Undermount Drawer Slides

Shop concealed undermount drawer slides for kitchen cabinets, vanities and furniture. Compare length, drawer-box requirements, extension and soft-close features.

Check your drawer box before choosing slides

Undermount slides require a drawer box built for the selected slide system. Length and drawer-side thickness must match its specifications.

How to measure for undermount drawer slides

1. Match the drawer-box length

Measure the outside of the box from front to back, excluding the decorative drawer front. Choose the slide size that matches the exact box length in the manufacturer's drawing. Do not round down or use a shorter slide; nominal inch sizes may be rounded.

2. Check the drawer-side thickness

Measure the actual thickness of the side panels. Select a slide designed for that thickness; allowable thickness varies by model. Use the drawer-side material thickness filter to narrow your options.

3. Check the width and cabinet depth

Measure the clear cabinet opening, outside box width and usable cabinet depth. Follow the selected slide's width formula and allow space for the slide and any rear brackets. Side-mount clearances do not apply.

4. Check the bottom and rear preparation

Confirm the bottom recess, clearance beneath the box, rear notches or holes and front locking-device positions against the installation drawing before building or ordering the box.

Converting from side-mount?

This is not a hardware-only swap. The drawer box must fit the undermount system's exact length, width, side thickness and bottom preparation. Your existing box may need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Undermount Drawer Slides for a Clean, Concealed Look

Undermount drawer slides install beneath the drawer box so the hardware stays hidden when the drawer is open. They are a popular choice for kitchens, bathrooms and furniture where smooth operation and a clean appearance matter.

What to check before ordering undermount slides

Compatibility depends on more than slide length. Check the drawer box width, depth and side thickness, along with the required side and bottom clearances for the slide series. Many undermount systems also use separate front locking devices and may require rear mounting brackets depending on whether the cabinet is face frame or frameless. Compare extension, load capacity and soft-close or push-to-open features before choosing a replacement. How to measure for undermount drawer slides

Choose your undermount slide series before building or ordering the drawer box. The box must be built to that system's specifications; there is no universal undermount drawer-box size or side thickness.

  1. Measure the drawer-box length. Measure the outside of the box from front to back, excluding the decorative drawer front. Match the slide size to the exact drawer-box length specified in the manufacturer's installation drawing. Do not round down or substitute a shorter slide. Check the actual dimensions in the drawing rather than relying only on a rounded inch size in the product name.
  2. Measure the usable cabinet depth. Measure from the slide's front mounting position to the nearest rear obstruction. Confirm that there is enough depth for the selected slide and any required rear brackets or clearance.
  3. Check the cabinet opening and drawer-box width. Measure the clear opening and the outside width of the box. Use the selected slide's drawer-width formula and required clearances; side-mount spacing does not determine the correct undermount box width.
  4. Measure the drawer-side thickness. Measure the actual thickness of the drawer-box side panels. It must fall within the range allowed for that exact slide model. Do not assume that slides designed for one material thickness will fit a thicker or thinner box.
  5. Check the bottom and rear preparation. Confirm the required bottom recess, clearance beneath the drawer, rear notches or holes, and front locking-device locations against the manufacturer's drawing. These details are part of the drawer-box construction.

Can you convert side-mount drawers to undermount?

Undermount slides are not a direct replacement for side-mount slides. You cannot simply move the hardware underneath the existing drawer. The drawer box must be built to fit the chosen undermount system, including its exact length, width, side thickness and bottom preparation. An existing side-mount drawer box may need to be rebuilt or replaced. Confirm every required dimension before ordering slides or making changes to the box.
