Space balls Cabinet Door Spacers are easily installed into cabinet door rails and stiles to help eliminate rattling and panel splitting in “frame and panel” style cabinet doors.
Their size, and the compression strength of the rubber used to make them is specifically engineered to be both soft and firm providing resiliency and holding power to ensure a perfect fitting panel all year-round.
Here’s how they work:
- Space ball cabinet door spacers are a synthetic rubber ball that can expand and contract with the seasonal movement of the cabinet’s wood. The door spacers not only create space for wood movement, but also firmly hold the wood in place.
- Simply push the small rubber balls into the cabinet panel groove prior to assembling your panel.
- The balls are soft enough to expand and contract with the wood which helps prevent the wood from cracking or splitting. Yet, they are also firm enough to prevent panels from sitting so loosely that they rattle.
Our Spaceballs Cabinet Door Spacers are 0.26 inches in diameter. Most people leave about 1/8” between the end of the panel tongue and the bottom of the stile groove when using these spacers. However, you can compress them nearly flat to suit your needs and preferences.
If you evenly distribute Spaceballs along each side of the panel they will expand and contract with the wood to prevent future misalignment.
Our cabinet spacers are so inexpensive they are as close to a free solution as you can get.
Recommended for: Woodworkers and DIYers use door spacers during the assembly process, to hold panels in place, and they use them in glue joints to eliminate cracking.
