In this age of technology, your outlets are bound to be knotted up with cords and chargers of all kinds. (In a few years I predict most chargers will be cordless, but that just isn’t the case yet. So, for now, let’s talk about a solution). If you want to keep from having a messy-looking desk, nightstand, or kitchen counter, then you'll have to find a way to keep your cords organized without having to unplug them, wrap them up, and put them away after every use.
It bothers me that whenever I clean my living room, it never truly feels clean because the cords are so messy-looking! And along with TV cords, there are probably certain cords that you use multiple times a day—for me, it’s my phone charger and my laptop charger. These are the types of cords I’m talking about. Get them organized and hidden so that when you clean your room, it actually feels clean. By the way, the solution I’m suggesting is quick and easy. It’s cord clips (AKA cable clips).
How did I not know about these things sooner?! I love them. When you’re searching Pinterest, most cord-hoding ideas will involve something crafty and cute. Don’t get me wrong, I love crafty and cute! But I don’t always have the time or creativity for crafty and cute. So, if you have the time, do it! But if you just want to get organized quickly and worry about crafty later, then just use cord clips!
The nice thing about cord clips is that they hold your cord in place so that it doesn’t fall behind a table or desk. You can find them in all sorts of colors, including clear. And the back is a peel-off adhesive so you can use them anywhere.
P.S. they work for pens and pencils too (see photo below). Isn’t that just convenient?
Most people would think to use adhesive cord clips on a desk or nightstand, but they can also go on walls. For example, see the photos below of a great cord-hiding project done by blogger Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage. She used cord clips on the wall, along the top of the baseboards. This can be done with TV cords, phone cords, appliance cords, computer chargers, etc. And if an outlet is a little too far away, use an extension cord. When it’s hiding, then why not?
